Despite its title and Kanye West 'executive producer' credit, Tyga's Gold Album isn't an 'official' release akin to 2013's Hotel California, but a mixtape 'freelease' similar to his 'Black Thoughts' and 'Well Done' series. He mostly tries to prove his rap bona fides, with mixed results like 'Shaka Zulu.' 'Pleazer,' which has generated controversy over alleged references to his reported girlfriend Kylie Jenner, and 'Wham' are the only cuts with club potential. 'God Talk' alludes to Biggie's 'One More Chance,' and ends with the sounds of a pencil scribbling furiously on paper.
