Project M 35 Netplay Iso Download

On the 1st of December, 2015, the Project M Dev Team announced that they would no longer be continuing work on Project M, and took down all links to download the mod. I created this page to provide download links for all versions of Project M, so that people can still find and enjoy this fantastic mod.

  1. Download either of the 'Hackless Wii ZIP' files from the Project M website and unzip the folder. Alternatively, you could download the 'Hackless Launcher' file from the site and use the launcher to generate the folder.
  2. Here you can find project m 3.6 iso community shared files. Download Project M 3.5 ISO Builder.rar from mega.co.nz 522.08 MB, Project M 3.6 Beta Netplay.iso from mega.co.nz 7.75 GB free from TraDownload.

This is a repository dedicated to compiling and finishing all the content from the leaked builds of Project M.

CC stands for 'Community Complete/Completion', which means that it's open to whoever wants to help contribute!

This build works on Wii and Dolphin.

Mission Statement: This project is intended to finish the work of the PMDT's development builds and create an unofficial build including all of the leaked content. This build will be based off of dev build 3.6.1, with both Knuckles and Lyn included. For those that want it, there is also the necessary files needed to revert the fighters to their 3.6 versions, while keeping all the cosmetic changes from 3.6.1. This includes Snake's new box taunt.

What This Build is NOT: This build is not aiming to be the new 'tournament standard'. It is simply a group of modders coming together with the common goal of finishing Project M the way it was intended to be. It is also not a new custom content mod. The goal is to stay as true to PMDT's design as possible. This build is neither a place to add tons of new characters nor rebalance the entire game. Perhaps in the future Isaac can be completed, but as of right now, the focus is on finishing what is almost done!

Progress:

Netplay

Currently it has combined the cosmetics of the Halloween Update with the changes from dev version 3.6.1. It has also added Knuckles, Lyn, and Isaac from the development build with additional cosmetic changes to Knuckles and Lyn and numerous bugfixes for both of their movesets.

Contributing to the Project:

If you want to help contribute to the build there are a few things you can do:

Iso
  • Test the current build and look for bugs/issues that directly impact the project goals. If you find a bug, submit an issue in the issue tracker with details about the issue and a suggestion on how it can be fixed.
  • Contribute files to the build to address issues. Find an issue in the issue tracker that you can fix, and submit the fix back to the main build. To do so, fork the project (make a copy of your own), make changes/apply a fix, and submit a pull request back to the project (request that your changes get 'pulled' into the main build). If you are having trouble, consult our guide here.

Development discussion channel:

We have a Gitter Channel for development and design discussion and debate.

Project-M-CC social channel:

We also have an Official Discord Server to act as a hub for people interested in the project to socialize.

  8. The PMBR's SOJ started an awesome Google maps project where you can put your location and preferred Smash name to see who is close to you. Check it out, and if you want to add your name, click the add marker button at the top left. This is not mandatory if you want to play netplay, it's just a fun idea.

  10. The purpose of this guide is to show how you can get Project M 3.0 working for Dolphin netplay. This process creates a new ISO file for Project M, meaning you can run it directly from Dolphin without worrying about SD card creators and other stuff like that.
  11. Netplay is great because it allows for quick access to online play which is often less laggy than WFC (although it is based on ping and can still experience noticeable lag), and fighting someone else is quick and simpler than entering a friend code.
  12. The process may seem daunting, but it actually requires relatively few files, and is easy if you follow the steps below.
  13. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What you will need: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  14. * A Brawl NTSC .iso file (I cannot link one)
  15. * Project M 3.0 Homebrew full set
  16. http://projectmgame.com/en/download/dl.php?f=homebrew_full
  17. * Project M 3.0 ISO builder
  18. http://gbatemp.net/threads/project-m-v3-0-iso-builder.358957/
  19. * Dolphin 4.0-648 (Recommended, but 646 also works)
  20. https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/339ee18c935858969ec494ef92949cb908b5e89d/
  21. * An MD5 checker. I used winmd5free
  22. Once you have the files:
  23. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Creating The ISO ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  24. Place the Brawl ISO in an empty folder. If you already have a Dolphin folder, you can put this empty folder in there to find it easier later.
  25. Extract the contents of the Project M ISO builder AND the contents of the Project M Homebrew full set into the same folder. After this step, your folder should look like this:
  26. http://i.imgur.com/tPTL8oW.png
  27. Run the Build_ISO v3.0.bat file. A window should pop up. Press any key. You will be prompted to enter numbers to indicate choices. These should be:
  28. 1—Project M
  29. 2—Make new save “slot” (KSBx)
  30. At the end of this process, it will ask you to confirm your choices. Make sure it looks like this, then press 1 and enter. Let the program run. This may take a bit. If you did everything right so far, you should see the program making progress copying files.
  31. You might get an error message that says 'The program can't start because cygidn-11.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.' This is normal, just click OK and the ISO should still complete without any trouble. When it completes, you should now have a file called “ProjectM_RSBEPM_K-sav.iso” in the folder you made for this. The folder should look like this now:
  32. http://i.imgur.com/oqO5cga.png
  33. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Checking the hash ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  34. Open winmd5free.exe. Click the “Browse” button, and find and select the ProjectM_RSBEPM_K-sav ISO file.
  35. Let the program run. When it is finished, look at the number in the window labeled “Current file MD5 checksum value”.
  36. List of working checksum values:
  37. d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087
  38. dcfcafca21ab415838382f229ee65794
  39. (An easy way to check this is to CTRL+C your output, then CTRL+F on this page and CTRL+V to see if they match)
  40. If these values are the same, continue on to the next steps.
  41. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Setting up Dolphin ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  42. If you do not have Dolphin already, make a folder to extract the contents of the download to, and run Dolphin.exe
  43. When it opens, click “Browse”, and select the directory you made that contains the two ISOs. After you select it, you should have both Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. Project M show up in your Dolphin main menu. You don't need Brawl, but I like to keep it.
  44. Click the “Config” button in the Dolphin toolbar
  45. Under “Wii”, make sure that “Insert SD Card” is NOT checked.
  46. Click “Wiimote in the Dolphin toolbar.
  47. Make sure there are no Wiimotes connected (just put “None” for all 4)
  48. IMPORTANT: NEVER create a save file when you open Project M. If you do accidentally create one, you can delete it by right clicking your game and selecting 'Open Wii Save Folder', and deleting the contents.
  49. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Playing! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  50. Go to the PM Dolphin Netplay Chat IRC room and find someone to play a game with.
  51. http://widget01.mibbit.com/?settings=0df80b8c72d2f32b9579c82f3cbe6ced&server=irc.rizon.us:6660&nick=webchat_%3F%3F%3F&autoConnect=true&channel=%23dolphin-ProjectM
  52. If they host it:
  53. In Dolphin, click 'Tools', then 'Connect to Netplay' (Note that the game should NOT be running)
  54. Enter the address that the other person gave you into the dialog box that pops up.
  55. You should be all set! The game will automatically boot up for you when they start it. Let them handle the settings, and chat them in the Netplay window about any concerns or rulesets.
  56. If you want to host it:
  57. Right click your Project M game and select 'Host Netplay Game'
  58. Copy the ID on the right side of the box, and give this to whoever will be joining.
  59. They should appear in the player list when they join. Their ping will also be displayed next to them.
  60. Click 'Configure pads' and make sure you both have a controller port assigned. It doesn't matter which one. Feel free to flip a virtual coin for port authority if you are so inclined.
  61. Adjust the 'Buffer' count based on their ping. This is the input buffer. A good rule of thumb is to divide the other player's ping by 17. If you aren't sure, start with somewhere between 4-6.
  62. Click 'Start', and the game will automatically open for both players. Make sure you do NOT create a save game file when prompted. 'Yes' is the default option, so don't mash the A button as you may accidentally create a file.
  63. Project M will start as normal, and you are good to go! Just go to 'Versus' like you would if you were playing locally.
  64. Note: Whenever you start Project M, Items are ON and on MED by default, and every stage is ON in random stage selection. Most of the time people will not want items on, so don't forget to go into the settings and change it to NONE.
  65. You are all done! Enjoy the wonderful world of PM Netplay!
  66. ~~~~~~ How to configure Dolphin 4.0-648 for performance ~~~~~
  67. The first thing you'll want to address is the framerate limit. From the main screen, click Config, and manually set your limit to 60. Once that's done, click Graphics.
  68. Under the Enhancements tab, set your internal resolution to Auto (Window Size), and make sure all of the enhancements are unchecked. Next, go to the Hacks tab, and enable the following settings:
  69. * Skip EFB Access from CPU
  70. * EFB Copies: Texture
  71. * External Frame Buffer: Disable
  72. * Disable Destination Alpha
  73. * Fast Depth Calculation
  74. Note: If you're using the OpenGL plugin on an nVidia graphics card, enable the Vertex Streaming Hack for a significant speed increase.
  75. Finally, click DSP and make sure you're using the DSP HLE plugin. These settings should get Super Smash Bros. Brawl (and Project M) running as fast as possible.

Any changes or updates that need to made to this page should be brought up in the general. Thanks.
