Pros: The LG drive was cheap, easy to install, easy to use, and it came with (mostly) useful multimedia software.
Cons: It was cheap, saw only very light usage, and several windows updates later, it stopped reading disks, and has been a paperweight ever since. A check of drivers showed that Microsoft had not received updated drivers from LG since 2006! Online assistance did not address the problem, but the attempt did reveal that large numbers of customers have experienced similar frustrations. I had heard that LG products had declined in reliability and quality over the last decade, but I had no idea just how bad it had become.
Other Thoughts: I strongly recommend against buying this product. For myself, this will be the last LG product I ever purchase. I am vastly disappointed.
Pros: this drive last me 4 years no issues didn't use it for much burning, but when I did it worked well. Had about 2 years of Win7 then about 2 years of Win10 older versions.
Cons: 4 years later and Win10 ver. 1803 comes out and my DVD does not work anymore. This DVD say's it's compatible with Win10, but I would be careful because since the April update of Win10 ver. 1803 it is no longer viable. Only get this if you are not running Win10. I have tried uninstalling it and removing it completely only to hook it backup and it still doesn't work. I looked for new drivers, but the latest drivers does not work with Win10.

Other Thoughts: I really hate that we even need these things for a computer build anymore. motherboards should come with up to date divers on a usb.
